What do I need to bring?:
All you need to bring is a smile, a love of good food and the willingness to get your hands dirty. We will provide you with a full set of recipes for you to make notes on and take away, plus we supply a full length Food Luddite apron and professional Chefs knives for the duration of the class.
What should I wear?:
You should dress comfortably bearing in mind you will be cooking and so spills may happen. We suggest a pair of flat comfortable, non slip shoes is a great idea because you never know what may fall on your toes and for safety we do request no high heels, sandals, thongs or open toed shoes.
Are your classes suitable for beginners or experts?:
We design our classes to accommodate everyone from the absolute beginner to the keen amateur chef and we really aim to make sure you take away some great new skills and some terrific recipes.
Can I have a private or customized class?:
Absolutely, at the Food Luddite Kitchen Studio we love nothing more than to build a special menu to suit the needs of a group of up to six people, or to provide an exclusive learning environment where one or two people can enjoy one on one tuition. As these classes are customized to your requirements, the price for these services is by negotiation but as a guide private classes start at $660 per session (plus GST) Please call us on 0423 637 078 to chat about possibilities.
How far are you from Adelaide?:
We are a comfortable one hour drive from Adelaide CBD travelling North via the A1 to the M20 turnoff then following this until it becomes the A20 and then exiting the highway at the Greenock turnoff.
Is there accommodation nearby?:
There are plenty of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets here in the Barossa, click here to see some of our friends and neighbours that provide accommodation or here to visit the Barossa Visitor Information Centre
Is there public transport to Greenock?:
Public transport to the Barossa region is very limited, we would suggest you self drive or use a car service click here to see a list of tour operators
Do you have parking available?:
We have limited off street parking available but there is plenty of parking adjacent to the cooking school on the main street and within the village of Greenock
Can someone join me just to eat what I have cooked?:
From past experience we have found that people joining the class as an observer or just to try the dishes prepared has been a little disconcerting for the other guests and so therefore we choose not to offer this as an option.
Are your classes child friendly or suitable for young children
Unfortunately the Kitchen Studio was not designed with children in mind with the work surfaces and physical layout not providing a safe environment for teaching young people. Please follow this link to our friends at Sprout cooking school in Adelaide where Callum and Themis run an excellent, dedicated childrens program.
